Location: Boone Hall Plantation

Boone Hall Plantation, open to the public since 1959, continues to be one of America’s oldest working plantations, having grown and produced crops for more than 320 years. Once known for cotton and pecans, the plantation currently produces peaches, strawberries, tomatoes and pumpkins, as well as a variety of other fruits and vegetables for visitors to enjoy.

The McRae family purchased the home in 1955, and Mrs. McRae furnished the house with antiques and began giving tours. The McRae family still owns the property, and they continue to make improvements to show visitors life on a plantation in the 1800s.

Your admission to the house and tour, where you will learn about the history of the plantation, is included with your ticket to the games, so be sure to take time to visit the plantation when you join us for the 2006 Charleston Scottish Games and Highland Gathering!
